Reiki (rākē) is a Japanese healing technique used to balance energy in the body. It is based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the client to activate the natural healing processes of the client's body and restore physical and emotional well-being. While Reiki is not a substitute for medical treatment, many find it to be a complementary practice for overall wellness.
Energy medicine aims to help the flow of energy and remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure. Improving the flow of energy around the body, can enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness. By placing their hands lightly on or just above the client's body, Reiki practitioners use gentle, non-invasive techniques to channel energy into a client's body. They act as a conduit for universal energy, directing it where it is needed.
Reiki helps to calm the mind and body, aid relaxation, assist in the body's natural healing processes, and develop emotional, mental and spiritual well-being. It may also induce deep relaxation, help people cope with difficulties and improve overall wellness. It can aid in reducing anxiety, depression, and emotional blockages. Believed to help clear blockages in the body's energy flow, it can enhance overall vitality and well-being.
